Novel use of a turban

The Rokh
The Rokh

Sindbad the Sailor (we always spelt it Sinbad, but never mind) was obviously very enterprising. Needing to escape from somewhere he unwound his turban and attached it to the foot of a great bird (the Rokh - again, we spelt it as Roc, but I obviously had a very inferior version of the 1001 Nights) and swung away as if he was doing a bungee jump).

This exotic print is by Edmund Dulac, for Laurence Housman's version of Stories from The Arabian Nights.

More to come on my website; just choosing mount colours.
